Cheryl Cole : Most Successful celebrity of 2009
The X Factor’s most loved judge Cheryl met Ashley and fell in love with this young and enthusiastic player Ashley in 2004. Cheryl was only 21year old. After two years of affair they decided to get married on 14 July 2006 when she was only 23 and Cheryl Tweedy became Cheryl Cole.
Cheryl Cole was then a rising singer who joined ‘Girls Aloud’ in 2002 and achieved fame and success with a string of twenty top ten singles. She never looked back since then. Born on 30 June 1983, Cheryl is one of those blessed one who has beauty, brain, style and luck. She won public love to be called as ‘The Nation’s New Sweetheart’. Thanks to the X Factor for bringing her into limelight.
Cheryl was born in New Castle upon Tyne. Cheryl’s charm and beauty always made her stand out from rest of the crowd. Her early childhood had not seen the best days of her life. She lived in poverty when her father left her mom. Her parents were separated when she was only eleven. Born to unmarried couple, Joan Callangham and Gary Tweedy, Cheryl was always interested in dance, singing, modelling and acting. She joined ballet classes when she was nine and made the path of a winner from there. She wanted to be a singer and at the age of thirteen Cheryl gave her performances of gigs. It included Metroland and Sunderland FC Amsterdam.
As a child, she won a number of awards that kept her going in the direction where she wanted to. She won Boots Group’s ‘Bonniest Baby’, when her mother entered her into competition. Later Mothercare ‘Happiest Face’ and ‘Best Looking Girl’ of Newcastle and then The Evening Chronicle’s ‘Little Miss and Mister’ are some of many. She was only six when she was announced the winner of ‘World Star of Future Modelling’ competition.
Cheryl is a golden girl. Whatever she touches has magical effect. She joined Girls Aloud in 2002 and their popularity went soaring high with “Sound Of The Underground” the winner of the show 2002 Christmas number 1spot.
She was chosen to take part in Will.i.am’s music video for his single “Heartbreaker”. As usual Cheryl was outstanding and was asked to sing vocals on the track.
‘Fight for This Love’ was her first solo but that also became number one on UK Singles chart. She is a winner all the way.
Cheryl had a tough childhood financially. She lived in the most difficult area of county estate of Newcastle and yet stayed away from drug paddlers and remained focussed to what she wanted and she worked to achieve her goal. Not for a moment did she deter from reminding herself of the purpose of her hard work was to make herself financially sound. Her mother supported her from the beginning starting her career as a ‘Bonniest Baby’. Of course the fate was always on her side and helped her to stay motivated, taking her fame to new heights.
Her continuous success did make her arrogant. She got too much in too little time. Her attitude in the Guildford night club was unacceptable. She assaulted a toilet attendant causing actual bodily harm. She was released soon after and the judge dismissed it as “unpleasant piece of drunken violence”.
However she was accused of calling the attendant a….bitch! Was she already so stressed with her married life that she saw a black woman and just spurted it out? But Cheryl didn’t look sorry for such behaviour. Not a word of apology to the attendant but of course extended her apology to the public.
She was sentence to 120 hours of community service and £3000 as prosecution fee but only £500 to the attendant. However, community service helped her to recollect her childhood days when a burger from McDonald was a treat.
After nine months of dating Cheryl got engaged to Arsenal footballer Ashley Cole and got married on July 2006.Her marriage opened doors to a different showbiz league when Simon Cowell recruited her as one of the judges for X factor.
X Factor was a stepping stone to her new fame ladder and it took her to become new face for L’Oreal and British Vogue cover girl and now a solo artist in making.
Cheryl has carved her career and is immaculate in whatever task she undertakes. It is not everyone’s cup of tea to handle such diversity so skilfully. She is young, dynamic and ambitious. She is a strong public figure and knows how to play with words and impress public.
She was one of the nine celebrities to offer her services to raise fund for comic relief. She climbed to reach the summit at -15⁰F along with Fearne Cotton, Denise Van Outen and Ben Shephard (host for GMTV). .
Ashley Cole’s fling with other women is no secret and it has been there for quite sometime. The marriage had to come to an end. Cheryl’s busy life style and then always trying to justify Ashley’s infidelity and protecting him from bad reputation was becoming too much. Unfortunately it happened when she had decided to start her own family with Ashley.
Heart broken Cheryl needed a shoulder to cry on and Derek was there just in time. He has been a great support and comforting companion to her since Cheryl broke up with football player Ashley Cole.
Derek is a well known choreographer of American origin. He was the winner of trophy in ‘Dancing with a star season7’.Derek did the choreography for Cheryl’s video ‘Parachute. Cheryl became very close to him during the video recording. But Cheryl says they are just good friends. (She declined all the other invitations from her friends to spend Easter with Derek!!)
Derek has a way with attractive women. He has style and a humble way of talking which invariably influences young girls making them feel they are very special. Perhaps Cheryl couldn’t refrain herself from his charm either.
Cheryl is on Europe tour now promoting her solo career. She is also acting as guest judge in Dutch version of X factor.
